この度デザインギャラリーリヒトでは、Tajimi Custom Tilesの企画展を開催致します。デザイナーのロナン＆エルワン・ブルレックを新たに迎え、リヒトにて新コレクションの「Sosei」インスタレーションを発表、及び作品販売を致します。会場構成もロナン＆エルワン・ブルレックが担当し、コレクションのコンセプトと素材の魅力を空間全体でご体感いただける機会となります。

Tajimi Custom Tilesは、2020年にフルカスタムでタイル製作を手がけるブランドとして設立。1300年にわたり多治見で編み出された数々のタイル製造技術を生かし、最大の特徴である多様性のあるものづくりを実現。 デビューしてから2年間、マックス・ラムとクァンホ・リーを招き、タイルに新たな視点をもたらす特別なインスタレーションを国内外で発表し、今期はロナン＆エルワン・ブルレックの「Sosei」が6月のミラノデザインウィークで発表され大きな反響を得ました。

「Sosei」は、成分、要素が集まり全体を成すことを意味する「組成」から名付けられました。多治見特有の製造技術である押出成形技術、独自の表情を持つ多彩な釉薬など、多様な側面がデザイナーによって再構築され、伝統を踏まえながらも全く新しいタイルの姿を成しています。 「多治見とは、様々なフレーバーが溢れ出るお菓子屋さんのよう。 黄色、茶色、ピンク. . .それは花火のようでもあり、歓喜とともに爆発する。 それを使って遊ぶ楽しみは言葉にできないほどだ。」とロナン＆エルワン・ブルレック。

多治見のタイルの積み重ねた歴史と製造技術にデザイナーの発想と想像力が交わり、既存の枠を超えたタイル表現の可能性が見出されます。今後も益々の展開が期待されるブランドによる、一枚のタイルの上だけには留まらない世界観を、この機会にぜひご高覧ください。

Ronan & Erwan Bouroullec(ロナン＆エルワン・ブルレック) / プロダクトデザイナー

フランスのデザイナー、ロナンとエルワン・ブルレックの兄弟は、ブルターニュのカンペールでそれぞれ 1971年と1976年に生まれ、1999 年より協働している。インダストリアル・デザインから工芸作品まで、大量生産品から研究活動、そしてオブジェから公共空間まで、彼らの創造活動は様々な表現領域をカバーしながら、少しずつ我々の生活に浸透してきた。彼らのキャリアは国際的な企業や、ヨーロッパから日本に至るあらゆる地域の職人たちとのコラボレーションによっても特徴づけられる。様々な研究活動により世界の名立たる博物館との協働も実現している。

Design Gallery LICHT is pleased to announce the exhibition of Tajimi Custom Tiles. Designers Ronan and Erwan Bouroullec will be presenting their new collection "Sosei" installation at RICHT and selling their works. Ronan and Erwan Bouroullec will also be in charge of the exhibition space, which will offer visitors the opportunity to experience the concept of the collection and the fascination of the materials.

Tajimi Custom Tiles was established in 2020 as a fully custom tile production brand, utilizing the numerous tile production techniques developed in Tajimi over the past 1300 years to achieve its greatest feature: diversity in manufacturing. In the two years since its debut, the brand has invited Max Lam and Quan Ho Lee to create special installations that bring a new perspective to tiles, both in Japan and abroad. This season, "Sosei" by Ronan & Erwan Bouroullec was presented at the Milan Design Week in June to great acclaim.

The name "Sosei" is derived from "composition," meaning that the components or elements come together to form a whole. The designers have reconstructed various aspects of Tajimi's unique manufacturing techniques, such as extrusion molding and a variety of glazes with their own unique expressions, to create a completely new tile form, based on tradition. Tajimi is like a candy shop overflowing with various flavors. Yellow, brown, pink . . . It is like a firework, exploding with delight. The pleasure of playing with it is beyond words." Ronan & Erwan Bouroullec said.

The designers' ideas and imagination are combined with the accumulated history and manufacturing technology of Tajimi tiles, and the possibilities of tile expression beyond the existing framework are discovered. We hope you will take this opportunity to view the world of this brand, which is expected to develop further in the future, and which is not limited to a single tile.

Ronan & Erwan Bouroullec / Product Designer

French designer brothers Ronan and Erwan Bouroullec, born in 1971 and 1976 respectively in Quimper, Brittany, have been working together since 1999. From industrial design to crafts, from mass-produced products to research activities, from objects to public spaces, their creative activities have gradually penetrated our lives, covering a variety of expressive fields. Their careers have been marked by collaborations with international companies and craftsmen in every region from Europe to Japan. Various research activities have led to collaborations with some of the world's most prestigious museums.
